GHK-Cu is a small peptide made of three amino acids, glycine, histidine and lysine, bound to a copper ion. The GHK peptide occurs naturally in the human body and was first described in human blood plasma in the 1970s.
Today, GHK-Cu is best known as an ingredient in topical skin care and hair care products, where it is often listed as copper tripeptide-1.
